From organiser, Tim Clarke:

The Accessible Waterways Association is celebrating the International Day of People with Disabilities by holding a conference and social event in Birmingham on Saturday 2 December 2023, in conjunction with the Canal & River Trust.

Towards Accessible Waterways

This will be a special time for like-minded people to get together. There will be stands for organisations to showcase what they can offer to help to enable everyone to enjoy the UK’s wonderful Inland Waterways, regardless of abilities. There will also be presentations, a time for discussion and social networking.

The aim of the day is to empower those who are less able and want to enjoy our waterways. Representatives of all the various waterways authorities are invited, so that the dialogue already started with the Canal & River Trust can be opened up to include all waterways of the UK.

To stage an event like this is expensive. The Accessible Waterways Association is a new venture in the process of registering as a Community Interest Company. We want the event to be free so that no-one is excluded, so we need your help.

Donations wise even £1 will make a difference. Donate, HERE
