IWA branches are getting back to work to improve waterways across the country. Work parties have been risk assessed and mitigating measures are in place. Due to social distancing guidelines places are strictly limited and subject to change. Please contact the branch to register an interest if you would like to attend one of these work parties.
IWA Somerset Waterways Volunteers work party activities may have to pause for a while after this Tuesday’s work session in Bridgwater, see details below, as we will need to adhere to the current instructions issued by the H M Government regarding the Covid 19 virus rules as they apply to our activities.
If you or any members of your household show symptoms of Covid19 you should let me know immediately for Track and Trace purposes and protection of your fellow Volunteers.
Please do not turn up unannounced hoping to take part as we need to adhere to the maximum number of Volunteers permitted rules.
If we become oversubscribed or the restrictions on Volunteer numbers change I will reply to let you know.
We will have hand gel, hand wipes, a variety of gloves and hi viz vests available.
Please remember to bring your personal face mask with you in case you are required to wear them.
Please also bring water to drink (if you wish) and wear old suitable clothing and footwear depending on the weather conditions.
A comprehensive safety talk with a dynamic site risk assessment will be given at the start of each work session.
Currently they are only able to work with a small number of Volunteers at each location. Anyone wishing to attend should text or 07977 263840 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
