Brer Rabbit travels to Africa to visit his grandmother and gets himself into trouble. All the animals of Africa – elephant, lion and tortoise alike – gather to help.

Based on the traditional Brer Rabbit tales, this show was specially written for the Puppet Theatre Barge.

Brer Rabbit Visits Africa is performed using traditional hand-carved marionettes and is narrated beautifully by Rudolf Walker.

Dates: Aug 10th to Sep 5th. No Show 1st, 2nd and 3rd September and relaxed performance 4th September 11 am
Time: 3pm daily Monday – Friday | 11 am and 3 pm Saturdays | 3 pm Sundays
Running time: 60 minutes + interval
Age: Suitable for 3+

Puppet Theatre Barge is a unique, fifty-seat marionette theatre on a converted barge in London, moored in Little Venice throughout the year and in Richmond-upon-Thames during the summer.

The theatre has been presenting puppet shows for children and adults for over 30 years. It is one of the few companies in England that dedicates itself to the art of marionette theatre.
