Great Barford Bridge Update 27/03/2024 Further to our Navigation Advisory Notice for a submerged tree under Great Barford Bridge, issued on 15 January this is now rescinded as the tree is no longer there. 200m US of Great Barford Bridge ADVICE (Wednesday 27 March 2024 until rescinded) Please be aware of a submerged tree 200m Upstream of Great Barford Bridge. Upware Lock Update: 26/03/2024 Further to our Emergency Closure Notice issued on 4 March for Upware Lock, River Cam, this is now rescinded as the lock has reopened. However, please see our Navigation Advisory Notice regarding the Lock. Upware Lock ADVICE (Tuesday 26 March 2024 until rescinded) Please be advised that Upware lock is open but that following the incident temporary pedestrian barriers remain in place. The lock pen has been searched with grappling hooks and magnets and appears to be clear of obstructions. Baits Bite Lock ADVICE (Wednesday 27 March 2024 until rescinded) Please be advised that Baits Bite Lock is now open, however works are ongoing in the lock area and access to the towpath is being maintained with users asked to take care in that area. Renhold Bend ADVICE (Wednesday 27 March 2024 until rescinded) Please be aware of 2 trees that have fallen into the river approximately 50m apart just Navigation is possible but please proceed with care. Approx 100m Downstream of Judes Ferry Updated 27/03/2024 Further to our Updated Advisory Notice issued this morning, 27 March, for Judes Ferry, River Lark, this is now rescinded as the tree has been removed. ADVICE (Wednesday 27 March 2024 until rescinded) Works will be taking place this week to remove the majority of the fallen tree. ADVICE (Thursday 22 January 2024 until rescinded) Please be aware of a tree which has fallen into the river approx 100mdownstream of Judes Ferry, Bedford to Great Barford ADVICE (Wednesday 27 March 2024 until rescinded) Please be aware there are various trees that have fallen into or are overhanging the river between Bedford and Great Barford. Brandon Lock UPDATED ADVICE (Wednesday 27 March 2024 until rescinded) Please be aware that although Brandon Lock is no longer being used for discharge it remains closed due to a build up of silt deposits. Binton Bridge, Welford Reach RESTRICTION (Saturday 23 March 2024 until further notice) Binton Bridge open to navigation with restricted width. Downham Market, Stowbridge and Wiggenhall St Update 22/03/2024: The Navigation Advisory Notice issued on 7th December 2023 regarding the water points at Downham Market, Stowbridge and Wiggenhall St Mary Magdalen, has been rescinded as the water points have now been turned back on. Ely Slipway ADVICE (Wednesday 20 March 2024 until rescinded) Please be advised there is a tree stump in the water at the bottom of the Ely slipway. Between Lazy Otter & A10 Road Bridge ADVICE (Wednesday 20 March 2024 until rescinded) Please be aware there is a fallen tree across the river restricting navigation in Ely Pump Out Water Point ADVICE (Wednesday 20 March 2024 until rescinded) Please be advised that the above water tap is leaking. We will look to get this

Given the approaching Easter weekend the lock has been opened but we recommend that caution be exercised when using it.

The bridge is open to navigation. However width of the navigation arch is reduced to 4.5m (14.8 feet) due to the temporary installation of steel braces. Fendering has been installed to protect boats.
Debris may be in the channel, either side or under the bridge so take great care.
Navigate with care, at slow speed and stay in the centre of the arch. Boats navigating downstream have right of way.
Scaffolding is installed on each side of and over the navigation arch. Booms are in place to keep boats away from the scaffolding on the non-navigation arches.
