Bray head lock cut

Update 29/04/2024:

Tree obstruction removed from Bray head lock cut.

NAVIGATION ISSUE (Thursday 18 April 2024 until further notice)

A tree has been reported obstructing the upstream lock cut. Boaters should navigate on the layby side of the cut to avoid the tree.

Days Lock

Repairs to Days Lock have been completed. River closure notice removed.

Evesham reach

RESTRICTION (Wednesday 17 April 2024 until further notice)

There is a fallen tree blocking 3/4 of the river width blocking the navigation channel opposite Evesham Rugby Club upstream of the railway bridge, downstream of Hampton Ferry.

Single file traffic width available however we have not been able to test for depth or submerged debris. Pass at own risk. Slow speed and give way to traffic navigating downstream.

Clearance barges will be tackling the issue as soon as possible, further updates to follow.

Denver Complex

ADVICE (Wednesday 17 April until Friday 26 April 2024)

Please be aware that there are planned works taking place at Denver between 17th April and 26th April 2024.
Although the works should not cause any disruption, please navigate with caution and take direction from signage and on-site contractors.

Godmanchester Up and Downstream

REPORTS OF SHOALING
We have received reports of shoaling at Godmanchester, up and downstream.
We will look into this as soon as it is safe and practical to do so, but in the meantime if navigating in this area please proceed with caution.

Houghton Lock

ADVICE (Wednesday 10 April 2024 until rescinded)

Please be aware that one of the key clamp posts has corroded and broken away from the vee door gantry. Access across the vee doors has been taped off. The bridge behind is suitable for use to get to each side.

We will look to get this repaired as soon as possible

Cookham Bridge, Cookham reach

Update 10/04/2024:

The main downstream navigation arch of Cookham Bridge is obstructed, boaters should use other arches with caution.

NAVIGATION ISSUE (Monday 8 April 2024 until further notice)

Navigation under Cookham Bridge is currently blocked by pontoons that have come adrift. These will be removed when river conditions allow.

Brownshill Lock

ADVICE (Thursday 4 April 2024 until rescinded)

Please be aware of a log in navigation when accessing Brownshill Lock.
We will look at removal as soon as it is safe and practical to do so. In the meantime, if navigating in this area, please do so with caution.

Station Road, Littleport

ADVICE (Thursday 4 April 2024 until rescinded)

Please be aware of a partially sunken vessel at Station Road, Littleport.
Although the vessel does not impact navigation, please navigate with caution once Strong Stream conditions have been lifted.

Eaton Socon Lock – upstream

RESTRICTION (Friday 29 March 2024 until rescinded)

Please be aware that this tree is no longer caught on the boom at Eaton Socon but may restrict access to the lock.
We will look to remove it as soon as it is safe to do so. In the meantime, and once Strong Stream Conditions have been lifted, please proceed with caution if Navigating in this area.

Downstream of Wadenhoe Lock

Whiston Lock

UPDATE 03/04/2024

The Navigation Closure Notice for Whiston Lock issued yesterday, 2 April 2024, is now rescinded as the power is back up and running.

EMERGENCY CLOSURE (Tuesday 2 April 2024 until further notice)

Please be aware that Whiston Lock is closed until further notice due to no power. The lock will be inspected as soon as possible so plans to repair the fault can be put in place.
