The Trust has removed this work from this year’s winter works programme as we have now fully committed the grouting budget on other locations and this item was a lower priority. It will be considered for future grouting programmes alongside other priorities.

NAVIGATION CLOSURE (1pm Thursday 21 December 2023 until further notice)

A tree has fallen west of Shortwood Tunnel on the Worcester & Birmingham Canal, blocking navigation.

This has been raised with our contactors. We will post a further update as soon as we receive one.

We are pleased to advise the tree obstructing navigation has been removed and the canal is now open at Bridge 19 on the Peak Forest Canal.

We are pleased to advise the tree obstructing the towpath and navigation has been removed and the canal is now open between Bridge 9, Windlehurst Bridge and Bridge 11, Manchester & Buxton Rd on the Macclesfield Canal.

RESTRICTION (3.30pm Thursday 21 December 2023 until further notice)

A Tree has fallen from the Offside ///jets.these.sang and is blocking approx. 50% of the navigation. This has been raised with our contractors and will be dealt with in a priority order.

ADVICE (8am Friday 22 December until 5pm Saturday 23 December 2023)

Contractor divers will be performing an underwater survey of the Absolute Pleasure Yacht. They will have flags out when divers are in the water. Please give them plenty of space when passing.
