The navigation between lock 1 and lock 3 spon lane is closed due to the bottom end balance beam at lock 1 failing. We are taking every step to fix the problem an updated will be provided by 10/01/2024.

NAVIGATION CLOSURE (8am Monday 15 January until 6pm Friday 1 March 2024)

The works at this location have been disrupted and delayed by flooding and adverse weather.

The site is still in flood, but we are hopeful that the levels will drop to allow us access onto the site on the 15 January 2024, providing the weather remains true to its forecast.

The new planned completion date for this work is 1 March 2024.

We will update this notice is anything changes.

Blisworth Tunnel

ADVICE (7.30-11am Thursday 4 January 2024)

Blisworth tunnel will be closed to traffic from 07:30, possibly until 11:00 on Thursday 4th January for the passage of four widebeam boats travelling from Blisworth to Stoke Bruerne and one travelling from Stoke Bruerne to Blisworth. 

Boats may enter the tunnel if directed to do so by a Trust representative at the tunnel portal or after 10:00 if no representative is present.

ADVICE (10am Thursday 4 January 2024 until further notice)

Please be advised there is sunken speed boat in between Lock 3, Factory Lock and Pipe Bridge, west of Tipton Station on the New Main Line. It is approximately 100 meters south of Lock 3.

We kindly ask boaters to please take care if passing the sunken boat. We will endeavour to get it removed as soon as possible.

Weaver Navigation

Sutton Swingbridge

RESTRICTION (11am Thursday 4 January 2024 until further notice)

Please be advised navigation is restricted to boats with an air draught no greater than 9ft 0ins / 2.74m at Sutton Weaver Swing Bridge on the Weaver Navigation due to water within the pontoon preventing the bridge from being safely operated.

Our local team and engineers are currently arranging for the water to be pumped out and removed from the structure.

Please note if your boat dimensions are suitable for a passage through Anderton Boat Lift, these restrictions do not apply.
