Update on 09/03/2022:

The motorcycle has been removed and is no longer causing any restriction to the navigation.  Boaters can proceed as normal.

Update on 04/03/2022:

Due to the size of the bike reported and the recent flood levels, we cannot currently give a time scale for its removal.

A member of the local team is attending site today, to locate the bike and to fully assess the situation.  They will then be able to advise what the plan of action is for getting it out of the water and we will then update the website accordingly.

It is between Bridge 20 Station Road and Lock 69 Potters Lock and we ask for boaters to proceed with care.

ADVICE (12noon Thursday 3 March 2022 until further notice)

Please be advised we have received a report of a motorcycle submerged in the Erewash Canal between Bridge 20 Station Road and Lock 69 Potters Lock, due to fly tipping.

Boaters are asked to proceed with care when travelling along this section.

Our local team and volunteers will be attempting to remove the motorcycle tomorrow and we will update the website accordingly.
