Soar Lane Bridge 3 – River Soar (Leicester City) Third party contractors, Danaher & Walsh on behalf of Keepmoat Homes Ltd, are continuing to carry out works on Bridge 3 – Soar Lane. These works have experienced some unexpected delays and now aim to be completed by the 1st March. Contractors need to remove and re-apply the paint system to the steel elements of the bridge structure which will require the installation of scaffolding and the use of a floating pontoon to enable all round access. Approaching boats may be delayed by up to 30 minutes to allow the contractors to remove the pontoon from the navigation channel under the bridge. The headroom for boat passage from water level to the underside of the scaffold will be 2.4m, this is lower than the bridge structure but higher than the stated headroom for the Soar navigation and the GU Leicester Line, which is less than 2.3m. Boats should pass the works location slowly and with caution. Near Bridge 1B (East Croft) Delays in reducing the gas pressure within the pipeline persist, further postponing the repair and subsequent re-coating efforts. Waterway and Towpath users are asked to proceed with care and follow advice on site. This notice will be updated on 30th April 2024.Update on 26/01/2024:
