Steamship Shieldhall will take part in the official Clipper Round the World Yacht Race Parade of Sail on Saturday, July 25, before giving passengers a prime view of the SailGP racing in the Solent.
The special sailing will bring together two major international sailing events in what promises to be one of the highlights of Shieldhall’s 2026 cruise programme.

Front-row view of the Clipper fleet

Passengers will be able to watch from Shieldhall’s decks as the historic steamship joins the official Parade of Sail and accompanies the fleet on its celebratory arrival towards Portsmouth.
The event will offer those on board a rare opportunity to see the Clipper yachts together on the water at the conclusion of their global race.
SailGP action from the Solent
Later in the afternoon, Shieldhall will take up a viewing position for SailGP, where international teams will compete aboard some of the fastest racing yachts in the world.
Passengers will be able to watch the high-speed action from the ship without the crowds ashore, while also having access to Shieldhall’s bar and galley throughout the day.
The Shieldhall volunteer crew said the sailing was expected to be close to selling out and advised anyone considering attending to book as soon as possible.
