TRIBUTE has been paid to the owner of Otherton Boat Haven, Philip Dorrington, who died suddenly on October 9.
From a farming background, he established the Staffordshire marina in 1995 and built it up from scratch as well as designing and building many narrowboats over the years.
Philip also designed and built the trailer used to remove boats from the water and was never far from an engine be it in a tractor, boat or digger.
A problem solver and go-to person, he was innovative in his planning for projects in and around the marina beside the Staffordshire & Worcestershire Canal at Penkridge.
His legacy with the marina will be carried on as a family business by his wife Jacqueline and sons Joshua and Cyrus.
