Santa Visits Gallows Bridge Boatyard and Moorings

Santa Clause paid a visit to Gallows Bridge Boatyard and Moorings on a cold December Saturday, he parked his sleigh on top of their trip boat, taking a cruise along the Leeds Liverpool Canal taking in the iconic mills of Saltaire.

In these difficult times, it was wonderful to see Santa cruising along the canal, bringing delight to the children and family groups who turned up to cheer him along.

The joy on the faces of the children was clearly evident and it was reassuring to see every one maintain social distancing throughout the event.

Gallows Bridge went to great lengths to ensure Santa was made to feel welcome by trimming up the boat with Christmas lights and music and even a snow machine, adding to the festive spirit.

Santa’s journey took him from the wharf at the boatyard passing the moorings then through Shipley and the historic Saltaire before winding just below the lock at Hirst Wood.

Such was the delight of both Santa and the people watching him he decided to make a return visit the following Saturday.
