Runner and continuous cruiser Roz Owen is running rather a long way (31 miles!) to help raise money for our canals. This is what Ross told Towpath Talk:
“I am a YouTube vlogger (The Narrowboat Good Life) and live on my narrowboat with my husband (and dog) as a continuous cruiser.
I secured a place to run Waterway 30 on 11th March for the Trust.
I’ve been a runner for many years competing in marathon and ultra-marathon events, however but haven’t run an ultra-event for over 5 years.
I have been training for several months, completing many miles on the towpaths across the network and when I saw that the Trust had places to run the Waterway 30 I thought this is the perfect opportunity to get back to ultra-distance.
I live on my boat continually cruising the inland waterways of England, so thought fundraising for Canal & River Trust was my way of giving back to the charity (and my employer!) who look after our wonderful waterways that I am lucky enough to live on. Life really is better by water.
If anyone wishes to make a donation, however small, I’d really appreciate it:
