This boat has now been removed from the navigation.
The lock landing is now clear.
Update on 17/10/2023:
We are in touch with the owners of the sunken boat at Welford Lock and they are making arrangements for its removal.

Update on 13/10/2023:
Our operations team is aware of the diesel spill from this sunken boat and has set up a boom to contain the spill as much as possible.
Please be aware that there may still be some residue in the navigation; however, this will gradually dissipate with the natural flow of water. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work to address this issue.
An update to this message will appear as soon as we receive more information or on Monday 16th October, whichever is soonest.

Please be aware there is a sunken boat on the lock landing at the top of Welford Lock.
The local team will monitor for signs of pollution.
