Update on 13/10/2023:
We are pleased to advise the works to both the towpath side and offside locks at Lock 45 Kents Twin Locks on the Trent & Mersey canal are now complete and navigation has resumed through both locks.
Update on 05/10/2023:
Works to repair the heel post at Lock 45, Kents Lock, Towpath Side on the Trent & Mersey Canal will start on Monday 9 October. Works are expected to take 2 days to complete.
Navigation will remain open via the Offside Lock only during these works.
Our team will then move to the Offside Lock on the Wednesday to carry out further repairs.
Navigation will then remain open via the Towpath Side Lock only during these works.
We politely request all customers to navigate through the area with care and listen to any guidance provided by the team onsite.
All works are expected to be complete by Friday 13 October, by which a further update will be provided.
Update on 29/09/2023:
Please be advised Lock 45, Kents Lock, Towpath Side in the Red Bull area on the Trent & Mersey Canal remains closed to navigation due to an issue with the heel post.
Our teams continue to work with our contractors to create a method of repair.
Navigation is still possible through Lock 45, Kents Lock, Offside Lock which has a width dimension of 7ft 8inches.
An update will be provided by Friday 6 October.
