We are pleased to advise our teams have managed to raise the water levels between Derwent Mouth Lock 1 and Shardlow Lock 2 on the Trent & Mersey Canal.
ADVICE (10.15am Thursday 16 June 2022 until further notice)
We are currently experiencing problems with low water levels on the Trent & Mersey Canal, in particular between Derwent Mouth Lock and Shardlow Lock.
This is due to the current climate and lack of rainfall we have had, and so we are struggling with water levels to run down and feed the canal.
Our local team are doing all they can to manage this situation.
Boaters are asked to be mindful and proceed with care.
