The tree has been cleared and boaters can now proceed as normal.
Update on 19/06/2023:
The fallen tree blocking the winding hole near bridge 23 at Willington on the Trent & Mersey Canal is pending removal.
Our contractors have anticipated that the works will be completed within the next couple of days.
Boats can still navigate this section; however, wide-beam boats may encounter difficulties and are advised to avoid this navigation where possible.
An update on this issue will be posted tomorrow afternoon,
