The paddle frame has been fixed and a new paddle has been put in.
Update on 23/08/2023:
The stoppage will now be taking place today (Thursday) from 6:30am to 10:30am (24/08/23)
The repair will be to the towpath side, top ground paddle frame.
Update on 18/08/2023:
Unfortunately due to insufficient staffing levels, we have had to cancel this navigation restriction today.
We will arrange for the investigation to take place next week at some point.
RESTRICTION (6.30-10.30am Friday 18 August 2023)
We’re having to restrict navigation at Meaford Road Lock 33 on the Trent & Mersey Canal.
Navigation will be closed from 6:30AM to 10:30AM only. This is to investigate and repair the paddle frame.
Unfortunately the paddle frame was damaged yesterday making the lock inoperable. The Operations Team managed to complete a temporary repair, but a 4 hour stoppage is required to complete a full investigation.
