ADVICE (8am Wednesday 10 May until 5pm Friday 26 May 2023)
Please be advised following some delays, the bridge repairs are now expected to continue until mid-May. The towpath will remain closed and a diversion route will be in place.
The canal will remain open but please approach with caution and be prepared to wait for a few minutes for contractors and equipment to move out of the way.
The new start date will be 10th May until 26th May

Please be advised third-party contractors will be onsite to carry out remedial works to Bridge 156, Durose Bridge on the Trent & Mersey canal.
Navigation and towpath will remain open. Please listen to any advice that may be given by the onsite banksmen and to take note of the signage onsite.
