TOWPATH CLOSURE (until 5pm Friday 9 September 2022)

Update on 26/08/2022:

We have been notified by our contractors that the towpath closure will need an extra week to allow completion of the works.

The towpath will now be open Friday 9th September.

TOWPATH CLOSURE (8am Monday 15 August until 5pm Friday 2 September 2022)

The towpath will be closed between Gorse Farm Bridge and Freeth Bridge due to ongoing, essential maintenance required at Spouthouse Embankment.

The Trust’s contractors will be doing routine inspection and investigation work that require the towpath to be closed to ensure public safety.

This will mean that access on to the towpath from Spouthouse Lane and Old Walsall Road will not be possible for the duration of the works. The access steps at Piercy Aqueduct and Spouthouse Aqueduct will be closed for the duration.

The last access point suitable for wheelchair users and pushchairs at either end of the closed section will be Gorse Farm Bridge and A34 Walsall Road.
