ADVICE (8am Monday 10 July until 4.30pm Tuesday 11 July 2023)
Update on 07/07/2023:
The bat survey has been completed and the structural survey with the pontoon and scaffold tower is now taking place on Monday 10/07/23 & Tuesday 11/07/23.
The canal will remain open, and the pontoon will be moved manually with ropes to allow boat traffic when required.
Update on 16/06/2023:
These works have been deferred due to potential bats present within the roof structure of the bridge. Contractors will conduct another bat survey before deciding on how to progress. As soon as this survey is completed, we will provide further updates.
ADVICE (8am Monday 19 June until 4.30pm Tuesday 20 June 2023)
Contractors working on behalf of National Grid will be undertaking a survey of Cable Bridge, Spring Hill on Monday 19th June.
A pontoon with a scaffold tower on will be installed in the water to facilitate the inspection. The canal will remain open, and the pontoon will be moved manually with ropes to allow boat traffic when required.
Signage and banksmen will be utilised to manage pedestrians and boaters. We kindly ask customers to follow signage and directions given on site.
