NAVIGATION CLOSURE (8am-1pm Thursday 1 September 2022)
Please be advised our local team will be onsite at Lock 12, Beeston Stone Lock on the Shropshire Union Canal to carry out essential repairs to the paddle.
The towpath side paddle has developed an intermittent fault and has been closed off to prevent any further damage from use of excessive force to operate.
Stop planks will be installed to dewater the lock and enable repairs to be carried out to the paddle and its surrounds. We anticipate the repairs being completed within 4 hours and navigation will reopen.
Please take note of the signage and to listen to any advice that may be given by our local team onsite.
