NAVIGATION CLOSURE(8am-4pm Tuesday 25 July 2023)
One of the sets of hydraulic gearing on the outer tail gates paddles has broken down. We need to empty the pound between Tuel and Lock 2 to wedge the paddles in and clear any debris from the inner gates in preparation for the M&E team to remove the hydraulic rams and take them to be refurbished. Once they have been re-fitted we can then get the other side done to ensure continued operation as these were identified as being in poor condition although still working when inspected today. We will put another notice out when we need to prepare for the removal of those hydraulics. This will only take one day so the lock will be in operation the day after and can be booked normally.
