Lock 4, Boston Lock
Update on 31/08/2023:
Our maintenance team have completed the work and boaters can now book passage through Boston Lock as normal.
Update on 22/08/2023:
Our maintenance team is back on site today to begin the repairs to the bent spear rod.
Part of the work requires a specialist contractor and they will be on site on the 28th August.
We aim to complete the works by the 1st September and will update the website accordingly.
Boston Lock will remain operational, but please follow advice from both our lock keepers and any Trust representative on site.
Update on 14/08/2023:
Our maintenance team aims to revisit the site next week to begin the essential repairs to the bent spear rod. We will update the website as soon as we have the exact planned start date or by the 21st August.

Update on 01/08/2023:
The repair to the gate walkways has been completed at Boston Lock.
Our maintenance team will revisit the site in a couple of weeks’ time to complete the essential repairs to the bent spear rod as its fabrication has been delayed.

RESTRICTION (Monday 24 July until Monday 31 July 2023)
There will be a restriction at Boston lock, starting on the 24th July.
Our maintenance team will be carrying out essential urgent paddle repairs, as well as repairs to the gate walkways.
Boaters may experience delays of up to 30 minutes, while these works take place.
Our maintenance team will be liaising with the lock keeper on site and we kindly ask our boaters to follow any instructions given by our Trust representatives.
We aim to complete the repairs by the 31st July and will update the website accordingly.
