The water levels on the towpath in Newark between Mill bridge 20 and Trent bridge 22 have come down and it is now safe to walk along this section. With the weather forecast predicting more rain, this may flood again. We will issue further guidance on the website should this happen.
TOWPATH CLOSURE (Monday 23 October 2023 until further notice)
Due to the rising water levels, the towpath is now flooded in Newark between Mill bridge 20 and Trent Bridge 22.
We strongly advise that nobody walks along this section until the water levels start to come back down.
We will update this notice on the 24th October, or as soon as we have more information.
