Update on 09/04/2021:

River Thames Waterways Team: We are continuing to explore options to carry out further works at Culham Lock to ensure that the lock remains operational and safe for the boating season.  These works will be carried out without the need to close the lock to boat traffic.

Therefore, there are no closures planned for the week commencing 12 April 2021 at Culham Lock.

Please be careful when navigating through the lock and do not enter the fenced off area.

Update on 01/04/2021:

River Thames Waterways Team

The Operations Management and Waterways department have explored all options and have found a temporary solution to repair Culham Lock. We are therefore pleased to announce that the lock will be open for navigation for the Easter Bank Holiday weekend.

Please be careful when navigating through the lock and do not enter the fenced off area.

We plan to carry out a full repair in the week commencing 12 April. The lock will need to be closed for several days in order to facilitate this. We will issue further information on this after the Easter Bank holiday weekend.

Update on 29/03/2021

Culham Lock: Failure of hydraulic system – the hoses have failed and they need to be replaced.

We are working as hard as we can to try to re-open the lock ahead of the Easter weekend, but as that approaches, there is a strong possibility that we may not be able to carry out the works. In this case the lock will remain closed over the Easter weekend.  W

We understand that this will cause great inconvenience to some of our customers and therefore we want to let you know now that there is a strong possibility that the lock will be closed, in order that you can plan accordingly.
