Selby Toll Bridge – bridge operating equipment damaged by floods

Update on 21/04/2022:

We have been updated by North Yorkshire County Council and apologies that the bridge is still unable to swing.

The previous repairs did not work, the next date that repairs wll be attempted is 25th and 26th April and then on the 4th May there will be a total road closure to hopefully swing the bridge and fine tune the repairs.

As before, vessels can pass under the bypass bridge as long as no swing is required.

For details of available headroom skippers should contact the bridge operator on 01757 703692 before planning passage.

Notrth Yorkshire County Council will update us with any further information on the repairs.

Update on 30/03/2022:

The further works will occur on the 22.04.22 and will not impact on the bridge swinging.

Update on 30/03/2022:

Selby Toll Bridge has been repaired and is now operational and can swing for vessels.

Further works are to be completed on the 04.04.22, however this will not impact on the bridge being operational.

RESTRICTION (11.45am Wednesday 2 March 2022 until further notice)

Selby Toll Road Bridge is not operational for vessels requiring a swing due to flood damage to the bridge operating equipment.

Vessels not requiring a swing will be able to pass under.

North Yorkshire Council are having to wait until the river level drops to allow them safe access to carry out an inspection.

A further update will be given once this is done.
