Downstream Landing Stage Offord Lock

ADVICE (Saturday 24 June until Tuesday 27 June 2023)

Please be advised that the Environment Agency has been made aware of a stricken vessel, facing a ‘Pan Pan’ scenario, that has broken down and is located on Offord Lock downstream landing stage, close to Buckden Marina on the River Great Ouse. We have been informed and anticipate that recovery of the vessel will take place on Tuesday 27th June.
Navigation and transit through Offord Lock is still possible and the vessel has been moved to the downstream most limit of the landing stage so that a portion of the landing stage is still availiable to vessels whilst using the lock.
Please exercise caution in this area and if using Offord Lock. Due to the current warm weather the river is expected to be busier than normal and a wide variety of river users on the river in both powered and non powered craft. Some minor delays could be experienced at Offord Lock due to this situation. Your patience and understanding is appreciated
