Approaches to King’s Lynn – King’s Lynn Harbour

EVENT (Saturday and Sunday May 27-28 2023)

Mariners are advised that International water ski races and other waterborne events are
planned to be held in King’s Lynn Harbour on Saturday 27th May 2023 over the 1209 hrs
high water and on Sunday 28th May 2023 over the 1315 hrs high water.
The full course will extend from the Cut pylons to south of the Boal Quay. There will be turn
buoys placed in the river for the duration of the races & each race should last upto 30
minutes.
Safety boats will maintain position to the north and south of the course and will advise boat
owners accordingly.
Mariners are requested to maintain position north or south of the course while each race is
taking place and then navigate with caution and comply with any request of the safety boats
If large commercial vessels are arriving or departing ABP Docks King’s Lynn the timing of
races and extent of the course may be altered.
Launching and recovery of craft will be taking place at South Quay 6 Berth.
SQ6 and the visitor pontoons have been fully booked over the duration of the weekend and
there are no moorings available for any fishing vessel or leisure craft on any of the River
side quays or mooring buoys.
These craft travel at high speed when racing and safety marshals will be monitoring each
race. Large numbers of spectators are expected on the riverside and the South Quay will
have a road closure in force.

Any Vessel wishing to move during the races are requested to Contact the Harbour
Master well in advance in order to obtain a possible time slot. The Harbour Master
will be maintaining a listening watch on VHF channel 14.
