St Ives Chapel, bridge over river Great Ouse.
NGR: TL 31272 71158
ADVICE (Monday 1 November until 17 December 2021)
Please note that contractors will be undertaking maintenance and repair works to the
chapel on St Ives town bridge between (1 November to 17 December) this work will
require temporary scaffolding to be placed around the chapel, although we don’t
anticipate this will affect navigation there may be a small protrusion of scaffolding
into the single navigation arch on this bridge which we have asked the contractors to
mark. Contractors are also anticipating using a small pontoon whilst the scaffolding
is being built and dismantled which may cause a short delay whilst it’s moved for any
navigation traffic wanting to pass through the arch.
When the scaffolding is in place please keep more to the right of the navigation arch
when approaching the bridge from the downstream side and more to the left of the
arch when approaching the bridge form the upstream side and follow any signage on
site and instructions given by the contractors.
