Update on 09/07/2021:
We are still currently sourcing a new pintle and bearing and we anticipate that these works may take up to 4 weeks to be carried out.
Engineers have attended to Number 6 swingbridge and have found the bearing to have failed. As such the bridge is unsafe to swing and navigation has been closed to prevent injury to anyone trying to operate the bridge.
A replacement part is currently being sourced and a programme developed to have the bearing replaced as soon as possible. Whilst the lead time on the replacement part is currently unknown we will provide a further update no later than Friday 9th July 2021.
