Bridge 219, Shipton Lift Bridge
Update on 29/11/2022:
We would like to inform you that we have needed to remove this restriction from our winter stoppage programme.
Hydraulic parts required to carry out the works have not been made available. We hope to complete these works later in the year and with a revised methodology that will mitigate the need for a stoppage/restriction.

Update on 27/10/2022:
An extension of this deadline has been granted which now has the works to be completed by the 28th of February 2023.

Please be advised that foot access across bridge 219, Shipton Lift Bridge is currently closed until the completion of a new hydraulic operating system, which is due to be completed before the end of October.
The navigation and towpath along the Oxford Canal will remain open.
