We have a team who will be mobilised there starting Monday 16th October.

TOWPATH CLOSURE (4pm Monday 25 September 2023 until further notice)

We’re sorry to report that a recent inspection has shown this section of towpath to be unsafe, and we have taken the decision to close it immediately. This towpath has always been relatively narrow and low above the water, and is in plan for repair next year.  While we have managed to keep the towpath open until now through local spot repairs, the challenges with vegetation cuts this year has pushed users to walk closer to the edge, worsening the condition of the path and bank to the point where it is no longer safe.

We’re in discussion with contractors about cutting back the vegetation and creating a safe route until the full repair can be made.  This will be a complex task due to the poor access and ground condition, and is likely to take several weeks to complete.  Once we’ve agreed a plan of action with our contractors, we’ll share this information with you, but please be aware that work is unlikely to start on site for at least a week.  We’ll update this notice as soon as we’re able, and certainly by next Friday 6th October.

Thank you for bearing with us while we complete this essential repair
