Lock 17

Down Stream Winding Hole: Kingswood Junction

Update on 06/08/2022:

The work has now been completed at Lock 17, and the lock gate is back in position.  It will take a while for the concrete to fully set, so we’re going to open to navigation at 7pm tonight (Sat 6th August). Please proceed with extra caution if using the lock over the next few days.

Update on 05/08/2022:

Our reactive response team are working on repairing the lock overnight.  They’ll be pouring concrete, and once this is set properly, we should be able to reopen the lock and this section of the North Stratford Canal.

We’ll provide an update by 4pm on Saturday 6th August, and hopefully be able to open the canal at this point.

Thank you for bearing with us while we get this sorted.

Update on 04/08/2022:

Our reactive response team will be completing a repair over the next couple of days on Lock 17.

Unfortunately we will need to close the canal further up, at Lock 2, to reduce water levels.

Please look out for a further update in the next few days. Thank you for bearing with us as we work towards repairing the lock.

NAVIGATION CLOSURE (2pm Wednesday 3 August 2022 until further notice)

Lock 17 on the North Stratford Canal is closed due to the lock gate coming out of the cup.

Please bear with us while ours team assess the damage.
