ADVICE (2.45pm Friday 16 June 2023 until further notice)

Please be advised that we are experiencing low dissolved oxygen levels in the Monmouthshire & Brecon Canal between Brynich and Llangynidr, believed to be the effect of recent hot weather and localised storm run-off.

Lower dissolved oxygen levels in the water can cause distress to fish, meaning they might be seen gasping at the surface, or even cause fish kills to occur.

Our Contractor MEM Fisheries has deployed aerators to introduce oxygen into the water and improve fish welfare.

Any signs of distressed fish, particularly outside this length should be reported to [email protected] .
