Update on 13/10/2023:

The team has completed the tree work on the Market Harborough Arm. Boaters can proceed as normal

Update on 11/10/2023:

The workboat continues to be on site, as the local team deals with the other trees which require cutting back along this section of the Market Harborough Arm.  

We estimate that this work will take a few more days and we will update the website on Friday 13th October.

Update on 02/10/2023:

The tree that has fallen on the Market Harborough arm between the canal bend and Bridge 7, Johnson’s Bridge, near Gallow Field Road, has now been cleared by the local team. 

While the workboat continues to be on site, we are now addressing the other trees which require cutting back along this section of the Market Harborough Arm.  

We estimate that this work will take approximately two weeks to be completed and we will update the website on the 6th October with a progress report.

Update on 29/09/2023:

The tree that has fallen on the Market Harborough arm between the canal bend and Bridge 7, Johnson’s Bridge, near Gallow Field Road, is still awaiting removal.

A workboat needed to clear this tree will be in the area shortly.

Boaters are kindly requested to proceed with caution, and we will provide an update on this notice by 5pm on the 2nd of October or as soon as we have more information.

Update on 26/09/2023:

Our local team has attended site and assessed the tree which has come down on the Market Harborough arm between the canal bend and Bridge 7, Johnnson’s Bridge, near Gallow Field Road.  

A workboat is required to clear this tree, and we aim to have it on site within the next couple of days.  

Boaters are asked to proceed with care and we will update this notice by the 29th September or as soon as we have more information.                                               

While the workboat is on site we will also be addressing the other trees which require cutting back along this section of the Market Harborough Arm.

A tree had come down on the Market Harborough arm between the canal bend and Bridge 7, Johnnson’s Bridge, near Gallow Field Road.  

It is partially blocking the navigation and boaters are asked to proceed with care.  

We are awaiting updates from the local team with regards a time scale for clearing the tree and we will update the  notice tomorrow morning with further information.

RESTRICTION (Monday 25 September 2023 until further notice)

A tree had come down on the Market Harborough arm between the canal bend and Bridge 7, Johnnson’s Bridge, near Gallow Field Road.  

It is partially blocking the navigation and boaters are asked to proceed with care.  

We are attending site to assess the situation and this notice will be updated with further information by the end of today, Monday 25th September.
