We are pleased to advise the tree obstructing navigation has been removed and the canal is now open between Bridge 94, Moss Lane Bridge and Bridge 95, Knowsley Road Bridge on the Macclesfield Canal.
Update on 18/08/2022:
Please be advised due to unforeseen circumstances there has been a delay in contractors attending site.
We now anticipate their attendance on site tomorrow, Friday 19 August.
A further update will be provided tomorrow, Friday 19 August.
NAVIGATION CLOSURE (Wednesday 17 August 2022 until further notice)
Please be advised the navigation is closed between Bridge 94. Moss Lane Bridge and Bridge 95, Knowsley Road Bridge on the Macclesfield canal due to a windblown tree.
Contractors have been informed and we anticipate they will be on site this afternoon to remove the obstruction.
An update will be provided later this afternoon.
