ADVICE (7am Monday 21 February until 7pm Friday 25 February 2022)
Please be advised third-party contractors will be onsite at Bridge 141, Hodge Bank Bridge on the Leeds & Liverpool Canal to carry out necessary vegetation works. Network Plus on behalf of Cadent gas will be felling a mature tree located on the towpath.
Work will include reducing the tree to 2m above the ground level, effectively cutting off the canopy of the tree before the start of the bird breeding season. With intensions to return later in the year to remove the tree and undertake any repairs to the gas main below.
Whilst both the towpath and navigation will remain open, both accesses will be marshalled during the works with the use of banksman on both approaches to the works. Customers may be asked to wait but no longer than 20 minutes while the working area is made safe.
We politely request all customers to listen to approach the area with caution and to listen to any advice that may be given by the third-party contractors onsite.
