Bridge 45, Fishers Swing Bridge
RESTRICTION (7am Monday 20 March until 7pm Friday 19 May 2023)
Please be advised that third-party contractors will be onsite at Bridge 45, Fishers Swing Bridge on the Leeds and Liverpool Canal.
The third party contractors will be carrying out repairs to the Fishers Swing bridge including timber deck replacement and new parapet handrails.
In agreement with the Environmental Agency and Trust Water Management team, the third party contractors will also be constructing a fish pass at Gathurst Weir located in the River Douglas (southwest of swing bridge)
Whilst the navigation and towpath will remain open, we politely request all customers to approach the area with caution and be prepared to stop if necessary whilst access is made safe.
Please take note of the signage and to listen to any advice that may be given by the third party contractors onsite.
