Bridge 67, Ford Green Bridge

Update on 16/03/2021:

We are pleased to advise the scaffolding is now in place at Bridge 67, Ford Green Bridge on the Lancaster Canal and canal navigation and towpath access has resumed. Repairs to the bridge are due to start week commencing Monday 5 April, subject to arising emergency works. We politely request all customers passing under the bridge during this time to listen to any guidance that may be given by the team onsite.

Update on 12/03/2021:

Contractors will be onsite to install scaffolding to Bridge 67, Ford Green Bridge on the Lancaster Canal on Wednesday 17 March to be able to repair the damage suffered in the vehicle strike. Once this is in place, we are hopeful canal navigation and towpath access can resume.

Please note the towpath is closed between Bridge 68, Bell’s Bridge and Bridge 67, Ford Green Bridge.

A further update will be provided by Thursday 18 March.

Update on 08/03/2021:

Our engineers have been to site and assessed the damage caused by the vehicle strike to Bridge 67, Ford Green Bridge on the Lancaster Canal. Whilst our teams work on a method of repair, both the towpath and navigation will remain closed.

Please note that the towpath is closed between Bridge 68, Bell’s Bridge and Bridge 67, Ford Green Bridge.

 

TOWPATH CLOSURE (Sunday 7 March 2021 until further notice)

The towpath is currently closed at Bridge 67 (Ford Green Bridge) on the Lancaster Canal due to fallen masonry from the bridge.
