Bridge 130, Kellet Lane Bridge

Update on 03/10/2022:

We are pleased to advise the scaffolding tower at Bridge 130, Kellet Lane Bridge on the Lancaster canal has been successfully installed and navigation and towpath access has resumed.

Update on 29/09/2022:

The emergency road closure has now been approved at Bridge 130, Kellet Lane Bridge on the Lancaster canal and our teams are now organising the scaffolding tower that will enable us to safely remove any loose masonry from the bridge.

To ensure the safety of our customers, navigation and towpath access will remain closed whilst this is being organised and installed.

We anticipate this will be installed over the weekend period and a further update will be provided Monday 3 October.

NAVIGATION CLOSURE (2.30pm Wednesday 28 September 2022 until further notice)

Please be advised, navigation and towpath access is closed at Bridge 130, Kellet Lane Bridge on the Lancaster canal due to damage caused in a suspected vehicle strike.

Our teams are now seeking an emergency road closure from the local authority which will allow our teams to safely remove any loose masonry.

An update will be provided tomorrow, Thursday 29 September.
