NAVIGATION CLOSURE (8am Monday 5 February until 4pm Friday 15 March 2024)
The project team is working toward a site mobilisation date of Monday 5th February 2024 and we’re planning to reopen the navigation by 15th March 2024, the last day of the winter stoppage period. However, we now understand that a longer length of canal needs dewatering than originally envisaged, which unfortunately means that the towpath must be closed, for the duration of the works.
The works are starting later than the originally posted stoppage date due to the availability, at short notice, of work boats and contractors to undertake, among other tasks, a fish rescue and specialist grouting works.
