Further to the notice below, we are pleased to advise that Benham Lock has now been repaired and is fully operational.
Update on 05/06/2023:
Further to the notice below, we are pleased to offer assisted passage for narrow beams only through Benham Lock on Tuesday 6th June between the hours of 10am and 11.30am.
The team are mobilising for a permanent fix on Wednesday 7th June / Thursday 8th June to enable full navigational access.
We will update this notice when the works have been completed.
Update on 02/06/2023:
Further to the notice below, we are pleased to offer assisted passage for narrow beams only through Benham Lock on Saturday 3rd June and Sunday 4th June between the hours of 10am and 11.30am.
Engineers have been to site, and we are mobilising for a permanent fix early next week.
This message will be updated on Monday 5th June.
NAVIGATION CLOSURE (1pm Friday 2 June 2023 until further notice)
We are sorry to advise that the upstream lock gate at Benham Lock has sustained damage.
Unfortunately, this means that the lock is currently inoperable.
Our engineers are currently assessing the damage and repair strategy.
We will update this notice as soon as we have further information.
