Further to the notice below our engineers and specialist contractors are currently on site.
The pumps are currently being repaired and subject to no further arising issues identified, we expect the pumps to be back online Tuesday 12th July.
To safeguard our customers currently caught between closures and maintain current water levels the closure will remain in place until Friday 15th July.
Update on 06/07/2022:
Further to the notice below, we are sorry to advise that due to a further pump gasket failure and a rapidly developing reduction in water availability Caen Hill will remain closed until further notice.
Contractors are currently on site and the operations team will monitor water levels daily.
Updates will follow as the situation evolves.
Update on 04/07/2022:
Further to the notice below, we are pleased to advise that a failed gasket in the Caen Hill pumping main was replaced over the weekend, but unfortunately expect that it will take until Wednesday for the levels to return to a sustainable level.
We will continue to monitor progress, and look forward to reopening the navigation as soon as levels permit.
We will update this notice on Wednesday morning latest.
NAVIGATION CLOSURE (6pm Saturday 2 July 2022 until further notice)
Please be advised that due to pump failure we have made the unfortunate decision to close the Caen Hill Flight to navigation. This is a temporary notice until we are satisfied that water levels have recovered for safe navigation.
Engineers are on site.
