Further to the notice below, we are pleased to confirm that water levels have recovered suffciently to open the Locks.
The Locks will be open from 10:00 – 13.00 daily, with last entry at 13:00.
NAVIGATION CLOSURE (10am Wednesday 5 October 2022 until further notice)
We are sorry to advise that Caen Hill Flight will be closed from Locks 50 to 22, for the next few days as a result of a pump failure.
We have been working hard to keep the canal open but must now close the flight in order to protect the Long Pound.
The repair was instructed earlier this week and we expect it to be completed by close of play on Friday, but please be aware it is likely to take a few days for levels to recover.
We will update this notice once we are pumping again and able to estimate the recovery time.
An internal redesign and rebuild of the pumping station is planned for this winter which will prevent the same fault from occurring again.
