Lock 7, Top Lock
NAVIGATION CLOSURE (Tuesday 17 May until Thursday 19 May 2022)
A three day stoppage is required to reline lock gates at Buckby Lock 7 to reduce water losses on the Braunston summit pound.
We apologise for having a stoppage so early in the main boating season but this water loss has only become apparent with the recent increase in boating activity and so we’re taking steps now to minimise leakage ahead of the busy summer.
Following consultation with the local trade, and with consideration of Crick Boat Show, the works will be taking place on Tuesday 17, Wednesday 18t and Thursday 19t May 2022.
Boats will be able to pass through Buckby Lock 7 until 10am on Tuesday 17, with the canal reopening no later than 4pm on Thursday 19t May 2022.
Volunteers and local staff will be on site following reopening to help boats through Lock 7 to maximise boat movement.
