Colne Valley Viaduct. 600 metres south of Lock 86 and Moorhall Road, near Denham.
Starts At: Lock 86, Widewater Lock
Ends At: Bridge 181 (Railway)
Up Stream Winding Hole: Winding Hole Common Moor (south of Common Moor Bridge )
Down Stream Winding Hole: Winding Hole Alperton and Winding Hole at North Hyde Bridge
NAVIGATION CLOSURE (8am Thursday 1 February until 4pm Tuesday 30 April 2024)
HS2 contractors are unable to do this work in January as originally planned, they are therefore pushing the work back to the 1st February 2024.
They have re-evaluated the job and no longer need a full 10 week navigational closure, they are now able to do part of this work as a nighttime only closure.
Details are as follows:
The full navigational closure will run from the 1st February 2024 to the 15th March 2024.
At this point, to allow customers to passage through in the day time they will switch to a nighttime only closure, this will run from 18:00 on the 15th March 2024 through to the 30th April 2024.
The hours of the nighttime closure are as follows –
During March 2024 the navigation will be closed from 18:00hrs to 05:00hrs.
During April 2024 the navigation will be closed from 19:00hrs to 05:00hrs
