Lock 5, Kendalls Lock
Update on 27/09/2023:
The repairs to the collar on lock 5 have been completed and boaters can now proceed as normal.
Update on 25/09/2023:
The repair to the collar on lock 5 will take place on Wednesday 27th September.
We advise widebeam boats not to enter the lock flight at Braunston until after the repairs have been carried out.
We will update the website with more information on Wednesday.
RESTRICTION (Monday 25 September 2023 until further notice)
The collar on the lock gate has snapped at Kendalls Lock 5, Braunston on the Grand Union canal.
The lock can still be used by narrowboats through single gate operation.
Widebeam boats cannot currently use this lock.
We will update the website with more information about the repair by end of today.
