Third party contractors are cleaning the remaining oil on the towpath and waterway wall with absorbents, caused by faulty oil filled cables that were repaired in October. The frequency will likely be fortnightly and then dropping to monthly until February.
The canal and the towpath will remain open throughout the works. Signage and banksmen will be utilised to manage pedestrians and boaters. We kindly ask customers to follow signage and directions given on site.
