Update on 05/05/2023:

Following the notice below we are pleased to announce that we are able to re-open visitor moorings in Gloucester Docks from 8am on 6th May 2023.

There are still depth restrictions in place as we continue to dredge. A map of depths is available at Llanthony Bridge and Gloucester Lock, so please chat with our operatives to discuss a suitable place to moor.

The dredging operation will continue in Gloucester Docks until early June. With this in mind you may be asked to move your vessel to accommodate these works. Please speak with a member of the team at either Llanthony Bridge or Gloucester Lock to see where the dredger will be working during your visit.

ADVICE (until 5pm Sunday 14 May 2023)

The depth of water in Gloucester Docks remains affected by the exceptional siltation in the summer last year.  Recent dredging has improved depths on the approaches to Llanthony Bridge and other parts of the dock.  Further dredging is scheduled to carried out between Monday 3rd April and Friday 14th May 2023.  These works will initially focus on ensuring a channel across the dock to Gloucester Lock.

Dredgings will be transported 5km down the canal to south of Rea Bridge.  Please pass the dredger and loaded hoppers with due care and follow instructions of the dredging crew.

The mooring suspension affecting the dock remains in place.  We apologise for any inconvenience.
